Requirements & Colorado Code

Please check with the Planning Department or the Building Department before constructing or erecting a sign for business. We understand that signs are expensive, so to prevent having to change a sign that is already constructed, all business signs require an approved sign permit prior to display. The Lyons Municipal Code has standards for the lighting, size and placement standards of business signs. View the Sign Regulations Chapter 16 Article 9 (PDF) for additional details about the code.

To ensure timely review please:

•    Pay the nonrefundable application fee prior with submittal – the Town is unable to review applications until this fee is paid

•    Include written consent from all property owners (including contact information and signature)

•    Ensure any business submitting an application has a business license if applicable

•    Complete the entire application and checklist

If you submit an incomplete application the Town will not be able to review the application until it is deemed complete. This will delay the review process.
