Municipal Election Results
The Town of Lyons held a municipal election on April 2, 2024, for the offices of the mayor and six trustee seats, along with one sales tax question.
The State Election Law requires the Town to send ballots to registered overseas voters per the Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act (UOCAVA). The law allows ballots from UOCAVA voters to be postmarked on Election Day and be received by the eighth day after the election to be counted. In addition, a 2018 Colorado mandate requires mail ballot signatures to be verified by the election judges. Any ballots the judges are unable to verify must be cured within eight days after the election to be counted. The final canvassing of the election results will be held on the tenth day after the election, with final official election results available April 12, 2024.
The newly elected officials will be sworn in at the Board of Trustees meeting scheduled for April 15 at 7 p.m., in the Shirley F. Johnson Council Chamber at Lyons Town Hall, 432 5th Ave.
