Official Communications from the Town of Lyons
Power line vs communications line

Private Property and Tree Trimming

Reminder to Residents

The Town would like to remind property owners that it is their responsibility to maintain their trees as well as trees in the Right of Way bordering their property.   If limbs break due to weather, wind, or heavy snow, they will need to be removed by the property owner. Sometimes removal will require hiring a company to come out and cut the branches. Please reach out to your favorite local tree trimming company to assist when branches start to encroach into the street or sidewalk.  If the branches have fallen on power lines, the Town can have their electric line contractor come out to remove the branches. Please note that most of the lower lines are communication lines (telephone and internet) and work around those lines is handled by the communication companies.  If you believe there are branches on a power line you can call us at 303-823-6622 Ext 42. Thank you!
