Stream Restoration Progress

The stream restoration team will be planting and installing the irrigation system throughout the rest of July. This is the final stage of the stream restoration project, and crucial for creek resiliency and healthy aquatic habitats.

July Streetscape Schedule

Main St. Streetscape Update

Through the end of July, work on the Main St. Streetscape project will include landscaping, curb, gutter, sidewalks, and turn lane islands at the US 36/Stone Canyon traffic signal, and the first stages of sidewalk installation along the south side of East Main.

This week, the crews began work on the marquee island, and officially closing the left turn lane that cut through the island, from westbound US 36 to 3rd Ave. However, traffic is still permitted to access 3rd Ave from westbound US 36 at the next sharper corner of the island.

Additionally, the Town is preparing to post and enforce No Parking signs on the east side of 2nd Ave., from US-36 to Kelling Dr., due to safety from channelizing the intersection.

GIS Consultant

At the July 18 Board of Trustees meeting, the BOT approved a contract with North Line GIS, LLC, to establish and service a Lyons Geographical Information System (GIS). This system will host an online domain, accessible to the public.
More details will be announced as work begins, but overall, the GIS system will improve asset management, house geospatial data, offer helpful resources, and enhance communications, through various simplified maps and visualization.
