2nd Ave Bridge Replacement
Updates

The Town will utilize FEMA mitigation funds to build a new single-span bridge on 2nd Avenue over the St. Vrain Creek. Construction is anticipated to begin in late November/early December and continue into summer 2021.

2nd Avenue will be closed near the St. Vrain Creek for approximately six months while the bridge is demolished and replaced. More information will follow on road closure dates and detour routes.

What's happening this week? (11/16-11/20)

The contractor has begun to mobilize equipment and materials to the work zone during the week of November 16. Initial work includes installing temporary erosion control measures, placing traffic signs and setting survey control. Starting Wednesday, 11/18, the contractor will remove trees that are on Town property and within the right of way.

All work is weather-dependent and the schedule is subject to change.

Author Talk: Pam Houston

Author Talk: Pam Houston

Tuesday, November 17 at 7:00 p.m.

“The language of the wilderness is the most beautiful language we have and it is our job to sing it, until and even after it is gone, no matter how much it hurts.” ? Pam Houston, Deep Creek: Finding Hope in the High Country.

Join the Lyons Regional Library District on November 17 for an evening featuring celebrated Colorado author Pam Houston. In essays as lucid and invigorating as mountain air, Deep Creek delivers Houston’s most profound meditations yet on how “to live simultaneously inside the wonder and the grief… to love the damaged world and do what I can to help it thrive.”

“Houston firmly establishes herself as a key voice from the rural West… her talent remains remarkable and her words extraordinarily affecting and effective.”–Booklist, Starred Review.
