Fire Prevention Preparation

Fire Prevention

As four major wildfires scorch more than 130,000 acres of Colorado, a statewide ban on open fires was enacted this week. Lyons is under Stage 2 Fire Restrictions and has been since July.

The hot and dry weather conditions we’ve been experiencing make us all susceptible to a fast-moving wildfire.
If your home is asked to be evacuated within 5 minutes, will you be ready? Given this current Pandemic, what friends or family could be a good place to go if you had to leave? Does everyone in your house know the plan?
Read more and learn how to prepare from the Lyons Fire Protection District.

2020 Census

2020 Census

Fire departments. Schools. Even roads and highways.
The census can shape many different aspects of the community. Getting a complete and accurate count in 2020 requires everyone's help.

If you haven't responded to the 2020 Census, please respond online today.

Lyons Emergency Assistance Fund

A Message from LEAF

The COVID-19 pandemic has created tremendous disruption and fear in our community. Food Pantry participation has doubled. Basic Needs requests have increased by 900% (yes, you read that right!). We are working hard to identify resources and meet needs, and to equip and encourage our community. Our dedicated volunteers have worked night and day to safely provide food and support to people in need. So much uncertainty faces us today, but we can be certain that we WILL get through this, together.

As the only human services agency working exclusively in the Greater Lyons area, LEAF knows Lyons. We know the people and the "Lyons Got Grit" culture. We have forged relationships with over 20 local government and charitable agencies. If you are in a position to offer an extra measure of financial support at this time, it is needed and greatly appreciated. You have our promise your gift will be used to help your friends and neighbors right here in Lyons, in this time of need. We will push through together!

Join LEAF's mental health therapist, Cherie Maureaux, Thursdays at 3 pm for a 45-minute mental health session. In the meetings, we share concerns, uplifting community stories, and have some laughter and connection.  We hope to see you there!

Board of Trustees Meetings Online

The Board of Trustees meets on the first and third Monday of each month. The current meetings are also livestreamed.

Due to COVID-19, Board of Trustees and Planning and Community Development Commission (PCDC) Meetings are held remotely as a 'virtual' Town Hall, via an online platform.

Members of the public who wish to attend the meeting virtually, via Zoom, can get the meeting information in the Board meeting packet, and follow the log in instructions in the header.

Previous recordings of the Town of Lyons BOT meetings can be found online on the Town website.
