New Business License Application

 A Town of Lyons Business License is required for all businesses located and/or conducting business within the Town of Lyons, including Home Occupations. Approval of your Business License application is necessary prior to operating a business. The application should be submitted early to ensure your proposed business is compliant with the Lyons Municipal Code.

Mobile Food Vendors 

All mobile food vendors are required to hold a Town of Lyons business license. There is a separate application for a New Mobile Food Vendor Business License. 

If you are a licensed Mobile Food Truck and need to apply for additional locations in the Town of Lyons, please submit Additional Locations for Mobile Food Vendor Form

Home Businesses 

Home businesses must be licensed with the Town of Lyons. If you are operating a business out of your residence please fill out the Home Business License Application. 

There are restrictions on what types of businesses are allowed to operate in a residentially zoned area. 

Sales Tax Collection and Remittance 

As a statutory Town, the Town of Lyons sales tax is collected and remitted to the State of Colorado Department of Revenue. We have created a Sales Tax Brochure PDF for all local businesses and vendors in Lyons. If you have questions, please contact the Colorado Department of Revenue.

Business License Renewal - No Changes

The following application is for businesses seeking to renew their annual Business License, and do not have any changes to the business use (i.e. the type of operations) from last year. An example of a changed use is a business that was licensed and operated as an office last year, but has added/intends to add a retail component. If you have changed the use to your business, please use the link below to complete a Change of Use Business License Renewal application. An example of a chance of use is a business that was licensed and operated as an office last year, but now there's an added retail component.
